How to describe the feeling you get when your with a team running your dog...
Ready on the line!
Four dogs going head to head with another four dogs from a different team – you are only 12’ from each other.
Your dog is losing their mind to get to their turn!
You line up, precise to the inch, right at 42’, we are second in this heat, you watch as your lead dog gets the best start they have had all day, you let your beast go when the first dog in front is 93’ from you, landing just after they have their ball off the flyball box. We’ve passed this dog before we know we are going to nail our pass.
You know nothing will go wrong, you’ve put all your training in, you and your dog have done this thousands of times.
Your pass caller gives you the thumbs up as your dog sprints by at top speed, you jump out of the way as you know dog three is going to be barrelling down right behind you. You collect your dog at the back of the lanes with your tug toy, you play with them and tell them how amazing and brave and awesome they were – all while watching dog 3 and 4 push for the win against the other team.
Your team does it they take the win by less than a second, cheers all around, high fives are flying, the other team is not upset they are ready to take on the challenge for heat 2!
Your endorphins have jumped into high gear, that was close can we do it again, READY ON THE LINE – you line up and do it all over again.
FLYBALL, for those that want to have intense fun.
