A fast-paced dog sport where teams race over hurdles, and each dog must correctly identify a scented dumbbell before sprinting back. It delivers all the energy and excitement of flyball, but with far less physical impact—making it a wonderful option for dogs of all ages and abilities. It is inclusive and engaging. Every dog can join in the fun.

Your Instructor
Hello! I’m Amanda, and I share my life with two spirited border collies, Icy and Tuxedo and my older dog Roxy. I started my journey into dog sports through agility, but I quickly discovered there was a whole world of activities to explore. Flyball came first, followed by scent hurdling, and then rally obedience, with a bit of dock diving along the way. Each sport has taught me something new about teamwork, training, and the joy of working with dogs. Since 2018, Scent Hurdling has been a particular passion of mine. I love the energy and inclusivity of the sport, and it’s been amazing to watch it grow in Alberta—from just a couple of events a year to regular monthly competitions.
